Support For Scotland's Third Sector

EDM number 947 in 2009-10, proposed by John Mason on 25/02/2010.
Categorised under the topic of Voluntary organisations.

That this House welcomes the Scottish Government's announcement of a 2.2 million fund set up to support Scotland's third sector through the recession; notes the fund will provide one-off grants of up to 100,000 to 64 organisations across Scotland to mitigate the impact of recession on front line services; recognises that the beneficiaries include organisations supporting parents, children, older people, victims of crime as well as people experiencing financial difficulties, illness or disability; and believes that these grants will provide an immediate boost that will help to position organisations for a strong recovery and, in turn, will support the provision of front-line services for the most vulnerable people in Scotland.
