That this House notes that the Bradford Bulls faced extinction due to financial problems in 2012; further notes that the Bulls were saved from extinction by the intervention of a local restaurateur, Omar Khan, and the hon. Member for Bradford South; further notes that the Bradford Bulls got off to a flying start to the 2013 season with a huge win; further notes that the Rugby Football League has kicked off without a title sponsor; further notes that many clubs face severe financial problems with 11 of the 14 Super League teams having combined debts of 68 million; further notes that hundreds of thousands of people across the North of England and many more across the country love the game of Rugby League; welcomes the appointment of Brian Barwick as the new Executive Chairman of the Rugby Football League; wishes Brian Barwick every success in trying to tackle the financial problems besetting Rugby League; heartily congratulates Omar Khan and the hon. Member for Bradford South for saving the Bulls; and looks forward to increased crowds and income in this coming season for all rugby league clubs.
