Girlguiding Ayrshire North Big Lottery Fund Award

That this House congratulates Girlguiding Ayrshire North on being awarded £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund in January 2016, as part of the Awards for All Scotland grant programme; commends the work of the Big Lottery Fund which supports smaller organisations in securing funding for a variety of projects and improvements, including assisted learning, enhancing local spaces and bringing communities together; recognises that Girlguiding is the largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women in the UK, with over 58,000 members in Scotland alone, and offers opportunities for girls to participate in a variety of activities, to learn essential life skills and to make friends and build positive relationships; and is delighted to learn that Girlguiding Ayrshire North will be using the funds to construct a cycle path at their local campsite.
