Barra And Heathrow Airports

EDM number 242 in 2016-17, proposed by Brendan O'Hara on 15/06/2016.
Categorised under the topic of Aviation.

That this House recognises that the Beach Airport in Barra, Hebrides, celebrates 80 years of landing on the beach and that the beach runway is the only one in the Northern Hemisphere, perhaps the world, that has scheduled flights; notes that the airport has three designated runways, one more than Heathrow; and congratulates the people of Barra for having the foresight to make the decision on having such an airport and hopes that the UK Government can follow the people of Barra in making a decision on Heathrow airport expansion.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
