Most Desirable Place To Live In Scotland

EDM number 997 in 2016-17, proposed by Kirsten Oswald on 01/03/2017.
Categorised under the topic of Countryside.

That this House welcomes the news that a recent study for Royal Mail identified the village of Neilston in East Renfrewshire as the most desirable place to live in Scotland; notes that the communities of Eaglesham, Giffnock and Newton Mearns, also in East Renfrewshire, featured in the study's top 10 places to live; further notes that the assessment was based on indicators of desirability, including the quality of local schools, access to green spaces, employment prospects, reasonable working hours and average commuting times; and considers that developing these attributes more widely across our neighbourhoods provides the platform on which to build the better communities that are at the heart of great places to live.
