That this House commends the response of North East Fife residents and organisations to the recent winter weather that resulted in red and amber weather warnings; thanks Anstruther RNLI and local volunteers who helped pharmacies deliver prescriptions to customers, as well as returning the pharmacist of Davidsons Chemist, Elie, home after being snowed in at work for three days and providing her replacement transport to and from work; further commends St Monans Meals on Foot initiative which delivered hot meals and much needed company to residents in areas inaccessible to Meals on Wheels; commends St Monans Fire station, local businesses and pupils from Waid Academy who donated food items, cooking equipment and containers as well as providing cooked and delivered meals to those in need; is grateful to local farmers who freed those trapped in the snow and also Howe of Fife rugby club, Firefighters, teachers, parents, Council workers and volunteers who joined them in clearing roads, pavements, playgrounds, and paths to schools; further thanks the army wives from Leuchars Station Co Working Hub who cleared pathways at a local sheltered housing complex and took prescriptions for people in Leuchars and Balmullo to the pharmacy in Cupar; and reaffirms gratitude to staff from the emergency services, NHS, postal, caring, voluntary and charity sectors including local foodbanks who not only went above and beyond the call of duty to mitigate some of the worst excesses of the winter weather, but who service North-East Fife with dedication all year round.
