Cardiff Arms Fair

EDM number 1184 in 2017-19, proposed by Liz Saville Roberts on 19/04/2018.
Categorised under the topic of Arms control.

That this House condemns Cardiff Council for allowing the Cardiff Arms Fair, or Defence Procurement, Research, Technology and Exportability exhibition to go ahead at the Motorpoint Arena; acknowledges with disdain that the weapons fair brings together the Ministry of Defence and the Department for International Trade with weapons dealers and suppliers; notes with regret that the fair has been held in Cardiff since 2014 when protesters were successful in driving the fair out of Bristol; further condemns the UK arms trade for supplying weapons which are used in conflicts resulting in significant civilian suffering from Gaza to Yemen; and regrets that Cardiff is the venue of choice for this exhibition of the UK arms trade.
