Glasgow, Maryhill Conservative Flat Raffle;amdt. Line 1:

EDM number 1257A1 in 1989-90, proposed by Bill Walker on 10/07/1990.

Leave out from 'House' to end and add 'notes that in the year ended 31st December 1988 the trade unions contributed ú4,200,000, about three quarters of the Labour Party's annual income and at the last General Election contributed ú5,000,000 to cover the cost of Labour's expensive public relations election campaign of which ú600,000 was contributed by General Municipal Boilermakers Union and ú750,000 pounds by the Transport and General Workers Union; and further notes that their contributions buy the trade unions 90 per cent. of the votes to elect the Leader and Deputy Leader of the Labour Party and how this contrasts with the way the business community and the Conservative Party in Glasgow and throughout Scotland work together to raise funds'.

This is a ammendment to 1257.
