Conduct Of The Secretary Of State For Wales And Privatisation Of School Land

EDM number 1369 in 1989-90, proposed by Alan Williams on 06/09/1990.

That this House condemns as an act of bigoted dogma the decision of the Secretary of State for Wales to force the sale of land in West Swansea which was being held by the education authority for provision of a new school; regards this as capitulation to the avaricious developers who will not be happy while one acre of green land remains undespoiled in this area of prime prices for development land; points out that adequate building land has already been made available, often against the wishes of the residents of Swansea West; and believes that this is further evidence, following the Parc Beck decision, of the extent to which this Government is firmly in the pockets of those who put their own profit before any social or environmental consideration.

This motion has been ammended, see 456A1.
