Television Broadcasting And Deaf People
EDM number 340 in 1989-90, proposed by Roger Sims on 18/01/1990.
That this House believes that deaf and hard of hearing people are entitled to the same access as other citizens to the broadcast proceedings of the House; welcomes the decision of the Select Committee to examine during the experimental period how this may be achieved; and recognises that access to broadcast proceedings of the House is a democratic right and that it is essential for the House to stipulate its requirements to broadcasters.
