Bow Group And Scottish Select Committee

EDM number 458 in 1989-90, proposed by David Steel on 06/02/1990.

That this House welcomes the statement in a Conservative Bow Group paper published this week which, while calling for the establishment of an Ulster Select Committee, acknowledges that for Scotland and Wales in the absence of devolved assemblies, the existing select committee system was inadequate to cover Scottish and Welsh affairs; notes that the present leader of the House is a distinguished past chairman of the Bow Group; and calls on him therefore to propose without further delay the establishment of the Select Committee for Scottish Affairs.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
