Rejection Of Bradford Community Health Trust

EDM number 1288 in 1990-91, proposed by Bob Cryer on 21/10/1991.

That this House welcomes the establishment of a committee by Bradford Council to take public evidence about the Bradford Community Health Trust; notes that 17 oral and 20 written submissions were made representing both individual views and those of organisations; further notes that the overwhelming majority of views expressed were opposed to the establishment of a second hospital trust; believes that this is based on experience in Bradford of a baby unit closure, sackings and cut backs, by the existing trust; and calls on the Secretary of State to abandon the ill-judged, badly researched and ideologically disastrous hospital trusts.
