Future Of Nuclear Physics Research

That this House deplores the proposal before the Science and Engineering Research Council to cease funding nuclear physics; believes that insufficient thought has been given to the economic, scientific and technological implications of this retrograde and short sighted proposal; and urges the Department of Education and Science to urgently discuss with SERC ways of averting this decision.
