LONDON'S EMPTY HOTEL BEDS AND THE HOMELESS

EDM number 445 in 1990-91, proposed by Jim Sillars on 08/02/1991.

That this House, conscious of the crisis facing homeless people sleeping rough in London's streets this winter, and aware that as a consequence of reduced business and other public activity because of the Gulf conflict London's hotels are facing their own crisis of empty rooms and beds, calls upon the Government to enter into immediate discussion and negotiation with the London hotel industry so that a requisite number of their warm and comfortable rooms are made available to the people now enduring bitter cold sleeping on the pavements of the city.

This motion has been signed by a total of 5 MPs.
