Air Fares From Usa

EDM number 475 in 1990-91, proposed by Peter Fry on 13/02/1991.

That this House urges Her Majesty's Government to make strong protests to the United States Government over the refusal of the American Department of Transport to agree to the fare reductions proposed by British Airways for its transatlantic routes and wishes to point out that this proposal is quite separate from the re-negotiation of the Bermuda II Agreement between the two countries; and further expresses its surprise that the United States Government is apparently not prepared to agree to a proposal which aims to remedy the problem of current low load factors on the translantic routes; which has resulted from the war in the Gulf, when the two countries are acting as close allies in this conflict.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
