Chairman Designate Of Walsgrave Hospital Nhs Trust

That this House views with concern the announcement of the appointment of a chairman-designate for the proposed Walsgrave Hospital NHS Trust a week before even the inadequate regional health authority consultation had begun into this April 1992 application; condemns the Secretary of State for proposing the name of Mr Robert Jordan whose numerous directorships make a mockery of the idea of full-time commitment; views with horror the imposition onto Coventry's health service of the former Group Managing Director of Foseco, the speciality chemical company which faces 6300 individual claims in the United States against alleged injury caused by asbestos and other toxic materials; and calls for Walsgrave's application to be withdrawn.
