CITIZEN'S CHARTER AND PORNOGRAPHIC TELEPHONE SERVICES
EDM number 531 in 1991-92, proposed by Terry Lewis on 21/01/1992.
That this House regrets the Government's refusal, in recent legislation, to acknowledge the suffering caused to many citizens by telephone chat and pornographic lines; is appalled that an opportunity to amend existing legislation in favour of the consumer has been spurned; believes that this deliberate omission will perpetuate anomalies which have been well documented; and concludes that such complacency, on the part of the Government, serves to demonstrate that the Prime Minister's vaunted Citizen's Charter is a meaningless sham.
This motion has been signed by a total of 44 MPs.
