M4 Closure

EDM number 786 in 1991-92, proposed by Roy Hughes on 03/03/1992.

That this House expresses its grave concern over the three days of chaos caused through the closure of the M4 motorway brought about by the removal of the Ingst bridge; and calls for a public inquiry to examine the reasons for the delay in the removal of the bridge and an estimate of the cost to the Welsh economy of the motorway closure and to examine the environmental aspects of re-routing traffic on a 70 mile diversion through small villages with the delay, noise, fumes and congestion that ensued.

This motion has been signed by a total of 28 MPs.
