Implementation Of The Law On Sunday

EDM number 328 in 1992-93, proposed by Thomas Graham on 24/06/1992.

That this House condemns the Government and many local authorities for failing to take positive action against the blatant law-breaking of those retail companies who, in defiance of the Shops Act 1950, open their stores for trading on Sundays and implicate their employees in law-breaking; calls for an end to this law-breaking as it sets a bad example to society in general; and believes that in a democracy it is essential that the law of the land is implemented.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
