Centenary Anniversary, Eccles County Borough Charter

EDM number 335 in 1992-93, proposed by Joan Lestor on 24/06/1992.

That this House congratulates the citizens of Eccles on the centenary of the granting of the County Borough Charter; believes that despite the re-organisation of local government in 1974 there still exists fierce local pride in the old order; looks forward to many future occasions when that pride can be demonstrated; and further congratulates all those citizens and organisations who contributed to the centenary celebrations.
