EDM number 429A1 in 1992-93, proposed by Lynne Jones on 07/07/1992.

leave out from 'deplores' to end and add 'the fact that anyone can be paid ú10,000 for a television appearance; notes that the case of the Birmingham man who has allegedly infected a number of women with the AIDS virus would not have come to light had it not been for the effectiveness of voluntary confidential contact tracing; believes that this tragic case underlines the need for all sexually active individuals to take responsibility for there own protection from infection by the use of safe sex methods; and further deplores the irresponsible behaviour of some newspapers which tell their readers that there is little or no risk of contracting AIDS from vaginal sex.'.
