DISABLED PEOPLE'S RIGHTS

EDM number 163 in 1993-94, proposed by Barry Sheerman on 02/12/1993.

That this House pays tribute to disabled people all over the world in creating the International Day of Disabled Persons; sends a message of support to the Disabled Persons Parliament meeting in Brussels; confirms its support for United Nations Resolution 1993/29 on Human Rights which refers to 'the achievement of full and equal enjoyment of human rights and participation in society by persons with disabilities'; and calls on Her Majesty's Governmment to align itself with the United States, Canada, Australia and other countries by legislating urgently to end all forms of discrimination against disabled people in their daily lives.
