Financial Aid For Homeowners

That this House deplores the fact that so many people, having been lured into a false sense of economic security by successive Tory governments which encouraged them to invest in home ownership amidst the rising house prices in the 1980s, now face a situation of negative equity; notes, furthermore, that many are additionally burdened with long-standing unemployment; and, in this situation, demands that Her Majesty's Government introduces legislation which will ease the financial plight of those who are caught in this economic nightmare.
