Changes To Mortgage Benefit

EDM number 370 in 1994-95, proposed by Nigel Jones on 12/01/1995.

That this House notes the proposed changes to mortgage benefit announced in the Budget; agrees with money advice and welfare agencies in Gloucestershire that these proposals will remove effective protection for homeowners on income support and will lead inevitably to higher levels of arrears, repossessions and homelessness; and calls on the Government to reconsider the proposals as a matter of urgency.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
