Dietary Control Of Arthritis
EDM number 669 in 1994-95, proposed by Edward O'Hara on 23/02/1995.
That this House notes that one in 10 of the population of the United Kingdom are affected by arthritis which, as one of the biggest problems of ageing, cuts short working lives and places enormous pressure and costs on the resources of the National Health Service; observes however that the onset of arthritis can be inhibited and its symptoms alleviated by a diet of natural foods; and therefore urges the Secretary of State to initiate controlled clinical trials to test the efficacy of such a diet.
