Gun Control And Closure Of Palace Of Westminster Shooting Club

EDM number 1165 in 1995-96, proposed by John Heppell on 15/07/1996.

That this House welcomes the launch of Gun Control Network which has been established to pursue the goal of a gun-free environment; supports the measures it proposes to outlaw the most dangerous kinds of guns, to reduce gun ownership and to eliminate gun culture; expresses concern that the Palace of Westminster Shooting Club has insensitively used the current controversy over firearms to attempt to recruit new members; and as a contribution to the elimination of gun culture, calls for the closure of the shooting club.
