Boycott Of French Products

EDM number 79 in 1995-96, proposed by Barry Sheerman on 21/11/1995.

That this House congratulates the British people on the success of their boycott of French products in response to French nuclear tests in the South Pacific; calls on British consumers to continue to shun French wines, cosmetics, food and household names such as Renault, Citroen, Peugeot and Perrier until the French Government abandons its testing programme; and further calls on the Prime Minister to speak for the British people and convey British opposition to nuclear testing in the South Pacific in the strongest terms to the French President.
