leave out from 'house' to end and add 'notes the recent legal changes to Brazil allowing interested parties to challenge specific demarcations, and that the changes pr-empt the danger of the Constitutional Court nullyfying previous demarcations on technical legal grounds; observes that of the 534 challenges all but two have been rejected, and those two are being further reviewed, welcomes demarcation of a further 237,000 hectares as indigenous lands in 1995, and the new law signed by President Cardoso confirming new reserves covering more than 861,000 hectares; and acknowledges the Brazilian Governments policy of transparency in these matters, demonstrated by the recent visit of the Minister of Justice to London to explain the issue.'.
