EDM number 34A1 in 1996-97, proposed by Michael Shersby on 05/11/1996.

leave out from 'House' to end and add 'notes that Hillingdon Hospital Trust did not refuse to admit patients over 75 referred by general practitioners from its catchment area; notes that the action taken by the Chief Executive of the Trust was to ask practitioners in the north of the borough to refer elderly patients to Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood, in order to ensure that they were referred to the most convenient local hospital; and further notes that 30 additional beds have been made available in the community to relieve pressure on acute beds at Hillingdon Hospital and a further six beds at Mount Vernon Hospital to provide enhanced services for general practitioner's patients in the north of the borough following additional investment by the local health authority of ú283,000 as a result of which admissions to Hillingdon Hospital are no longer under pressure.'.
