Future Of The Driver And Vehicle Licencing Agency

That this House notes the vital role played by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency in protecting the confidentiality of road users, in assisting the police in detecting criminal activity, in contributing massively to the Exchequer by its collection of vehicle excise duty and in providing much needed quality employment in an area adversely affected by industrial change; and is adamant that this highly responsible role in protecting road users and in serving the local economy of South West Wales and other areas should not be jeopardised by any hasty and unplanned sale to the private sector for ideological reasons.
