IRELAND'S ECONOMIC PERFORMANCE

That this House notes the new OECD figures for 1996, published this month, which show that the GDP of the Irish Republic, at $18,745 per capita, has overtaken that of the United Kingdom, which stands at $18,494 per capita; and congratulates the Irish Republic on its economic achievement.
