That this House congratulates the Aid Fourth World Organisation on its imaginative campaigning to highlight the importance of the United Nations Day for the Eradication of Poverty on 17th October 1996; notes that at the Copenhagen Summit Conference all participants including representatives of the British Government made a commitment to take measures to overcome poverty in their own coutries as well as the developing world; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government immediately to take steps to deliver those objectives.
