Israeli Detention Of Lebanese Prisoners

EDM number 485 in 1997-98, proposed by John McDonnell on 19/11/1997.

That this House deplores the action of the Israeli Government in continuing, in violation of their basic human rights, to detain in prison in Israel Abd al Husayu Dakrub, Mohammed Abd al-Hadi Yassin, Ali Husayu Ammar, Ahmad Muhsen Ammar, Kamal Mahummad Rizq, and other young Lebanese totalling 21 in all, for periods long after the expiry of their sentence, in some cases for many years; fears that these young men are in reality held as hostages; and calls upon the Government to make renewed efforts to obtain their early release.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
