Rjb Mining And Early Day Motions 518 And 519

EDM number 538 in 1997-98, proposed by Philip Hammond on 01/12/1997.

That this House regrets the intemperate attack on RJB Mining, and on Richard Budge personally, made in Early Day Motions 518 (Coal Industry and RJB Mining) and 519 (Coal Industry and RJB Mining (No.2)); notes that neither the Insolvency Service nor the National Audit Office in its report (HC 360 of 1995-96) to the House found any case for proceedings against Mr Budge; and calls upon Her Majesty's Ministers to refrain from critising Mr Budge and to produce instead a constructive policy for coal.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
