Conduct Of The Leader Of The Opposition (No. 4)

EDM number 915 in 1997-98, proposed by Paul Flynn on 05/03/1998.

That this House, noting the Director General of Fair Trading's action against the loan sharks the City Mortgage Corporation, who routinely robbed their clients with oppressive interest rates and repossessions, calls on the Leader of the Opposition to donate to the victims of CMC the ú20,000 gift he received from ex-Tory councillor and disgraced former Managing Director of CMC Mr David Steene, as otherwise the Opposition and its Leader remain vulnerable to the charge that they are indirectly benefitting from these frauds.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
