CONDUCT OF THE LEADER OF HER MAJESTY'S OPPOSITION

EDM number 285 in 1998-99, proposed by Fraser Kemp on 08/02/1999.

That this House notes the statement made on 29th January 1998 by the honourable Member for Tunbridge Wells, Chief Executive of the Conservative Party, when referring to all aspects of the Neill Committee proposals, that 'we will support legislation if it is brought forward'; is therefore dismayed at the decision of Her Majesty's Leader of the Opposition to accept support to the value of ú100,000 from Mr Irvine Laidlaw, a Monaco-based tax exile; and urges the Leader of the Opposition to repay the donation and support Conservative Party policy as outlined by the honourable Member for Tunbridge Wells.

This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
