SCOTTISH AGRICULTURE AND THE NFU'S PETITION FOR ACTION
EDM number 237 in 1999-00, proposed by Robert Smith on 10/01/2000.
That this House notes with extreme concern the continuing crisis faced by Scottish agriculture, caused by factors including the strength of the pound, lack of a level regulatory playing field within Europe and falling farm incomes; welcomes the Petition for Action organised by the National Farmers' Union of Scotland; and calls on the Government to recognise the need for further assistance for Scotland's farmers and growers.
This motion has been signed by a total of 12 MPs.
