Combating Financial Crime

That this House welcomes the formation of the United Nations Offshore Forum and congratulates the Government of the Cayman Islands, which will be host to the first meeting of the Forum on 30th-31st March; believes that this meeting is an important recognition of the Cayman Islands' success as a major international financial centre and its record in combating financial crime and establishing high-quality systems of financial regulation; further believes that United Kingdom Overseas Territories such as the Cayman Islands deserve full support and co-operation from the United Kingdom Government; and welcomes this initiative by the United Nations to establish accepted international standards in the cross border financial services industry throughout the world.
