Rjb Mining And Open Casting

EDM number 629 in 2000-01, proposed by Jon Trickett on 02/05/2001.

That this House recalls the bargain price at which the Tories sold the bulk of the English coalfields to RJB Mining; further notes the millions of pounds subsidy being paid to that same company; firmly insists that RJB pays urgent regard to the views of those communities amongst which it seeks to profiteer by means of open casting; and finally demands that the company should dismantle the Anglers Disposal Point near Crofton, the planning consent for which expired many years ago and which the company has clung onto in the vain hope that it might gain consent for open casting the area.

This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
