SUSAN MAY'S APPEAL JUDGEMENT
EDM number 1283 in 2001-02, proposed by John McDonnell on 13/05/2002.
That this House welcomes to Parliament a delegation of campaigners seeking to secure the release of Susan May, a woman sentenced to life for a murder she did not commit; and expresses its deep concern that despite the reference of her case to the Court of Appeal by the Criminal Cases Review Commission, the Court of Appeal rejected her appeal, ignoring the overwhelming evidence of her innocence; and calls upon the Commission to refer her case back to the Appeal Court for reconsideration.
This motion has been signed by a total of 6 MPs.
