Unison London Weighting Claim

EDM number 1308 in 2001-02, proposed by Jeremy Corbyn on 14/05/2002.

That this House supports the Unison claim for ú4,000 per annum London Allowance for local authority workers; recognises that the cost of living in London and fringe areas is substantially higher than the rest of the country; calls on Government and local authority employers urgently to negotiate with the unions to resolve the claim; and further calls on the Government to invest in housing for affordable rent to meet the desperate housing needs of public sector workers and others in housing stress.

This motion has been signed by a total of 26 MPs.
