ST ANDREW'S DAY AND BRITAIN'S EMBASSIES

EDM number 493 in 2001-02, proposed by Angus Robertson on 29/11/2001.

That this House regrets that only one British embassy out of 27 surveyed across Europe and North America - the embassy in Ireland - is doing anything to promote Scotland on St Andrew's Day; deplores this failure to represent Scottish interests on Scotland's National Day; and calls for St Andrew's Day to be designated a national public holiday in Scotland.

This motion has been signed by a total of 12 MPs.
