Elections To The Welsh Assembly

EDM number 1157 in 2002-03, proposed by Huw Irranca-Davies on 07/05/2003.

That this House welcomes the success of the Labour Party in Wales in the elections for the Welsh Assembly; notes that 30 of the 40 constituency seats were won by Labour candidates; further notes the rejection of narrow nationalism in Wales; and the ejection of Plaid Cymru from the South Wales Valleys entirely; recognises the strong personal support for Mr Rhodri Morgan's leadership by the people of Wales; and acknowledges that only the Labour Party can realistically claim to be the genuine party of Wales.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
