Elections In Northern Ireland

EDM number 1260 in 2002-03, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 20/05/2003.

That this House notes the democratic deficit that now exists in Northern Ireland with the further postponing of the Assembly elections that had been scheduled to take place initially on 1st May and again on 29th May and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to hold these elections at the earliest possible opportunity allowing people in Northern Ireland to express their views and allow immediate and serious discussions to ensue with all democratic parties having renewed their mandate.

This motion has been signed by a total of 8 MPs.
