Eurotunnel

EDM number 1694 in 2002-03, proposed by Paul Flynn on 16/09/2003.

That this House recalls that, at the opening of the Eurotunnel, President Mitterand noted France's high-speed route and thanked Britain for allowing passengers sufficient time to 'admire the beauty of the Kent countryside'; and welcomes Britain's first high-speed route, delivered on time and on budget, as the beginning of a new era in which British trains will match the highest standards achieved elsewhere in Europe.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
