Robin Hood

EDM number 494 in 2003-04, proposed by John Mann on 27/01/2004.

That this House notes the historically inaccurate claims by Yorkshire honourable Members to the history and legacy of Robin Hood; believes honourable Members must have confused Robin Hood with Yorkshire's own Dick Turpin, a confusion highlighted by their desire to purloin Bassetlaw road signs; further notes that Sherwood Forest, home of Robin Hood, still exists and is being extended through replanting throughout Nottinghamshire; and looks forward to honourable Members from Yorkshire holidaying, during Parliamentary recess, in leafy Nottinghamshire, and visiting Clumber Park, Major Oak and other haunts of Robin Hood and his Merry Men.

This motion has been signed by a total of 4 MPs.
