Future Of Community Wardens In Accrington
EDM number 339 in 2004-05, proposed by Greg Pope on 07/12/2004.
That this House notes the excellent work being carried out by the community wardens in Accrington and congratulates them on their success in tackling anti-social behaviour and building social cohesion; further notes that funding for the service beyond March 2005 is uncertain; and calls on Hyndburn Borough Council, Lancashire County Council, Lancashire Constabulary, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to work together to find a way of funding a service which adds in value to the community a great deal more than it costs in money.
This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
