Conduct Of The Right Honourable Member For West Dorset

EDM number 912 in 2004-05, proposed by Jimmy Wray on 14/03/2005.

That this House demands a full apology from the Shadow Chancellor, the Right honourable Member for West Dorset, for the irresponsible statement he made that Labour had a secret plan to impose 40% capital gains tax on the sale of principal residences; considers that the making of a false statement such as this was a despicable act which constitutes an abuse of his position; and demands that he give his assurance to the House that he will resign forthwith from the Opposition front bench if not sacked by the Leader of the Opposition.

This motion has been signed by a total of 3 MPs.
