Honours, Donors And The Conservative Party

EDM number 2606 in 2005-06, proposed by Alex Salmond on 19/07/2006.

That this House calls on the right hon. Member for Witney to reveal what percentage of individual donations to the Conservative Party have been received from people nominated for honours; notes that 80 pence out of every £1 in individual donations to the Labour Party has come from donors who have received knighthoods or peerages; and further notes that offering a place in the House of Lords as a means of fundraising for political parties is illegal under the Honours (Prevention of Abuses) Act 1925.

This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs.
