Retirement Of The Principal Of Crawley College

EDM number 293 in 2005-06, proposed by Laura Moffatt on 09/06/2005.

That this House commends the work of John Cox, Principal of Crawley College who retired recently after 14 years' service; notes that John was responsible for delivering innovations and developments to the benefit of untold numbers of students in and around Crawley, establishing annexed sites taking courses to students in surrounding towns, overseeing the construction of two major new teaching blocks at Crawley and most recently establishing the Central Sussex College, a merger with Haywards Heath College, which has put Crawley at the centre of meeting the further education needs for central Sussex; further notes that his work and commitment to the students and staff has seen the college go from strength to strength, retaining Investors in People status and expanding from teaching 10,000 students in 1991 to the 16,000 currently who receive high quality education across a broad range of academic and vocational subjects.
